Atlanta – September 6, 2019 – Former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell and his wife, Sandra Massell, have been named honorary chairs for the 15th annual Taste of Buckhead, Atlanta’s premier food and beverage tasting event hosted by the Buckhead Business Association (BBA). The event takes
place Thursday, September 19th, at The Stave Room at ASW Distillery.
“We are deeply honored to have Mayor Massell and Sandra as our honorary Taste chairs this year,” said BBA President Julie Bailey. “Mayor Massell has been an incredible supporter of BBA for many years, and his involvement will make our fifteenth annual Taste of Buckhead even
more special.”
Taste of Buckhead is the most unique, single night tasting event in the Atlanta area. Run solely by volunteer efforts, Taste of Buckhead brings together the area’s best chefs, local dignitaries, and foodies from across metro Atlanta for a one-night only unlimited culinary sampling experience. Several restaurants will be participating in this year’s Taste of Buckhead, offering attendees samples of signature and off-menu items, desserts and drinks. Participants include Mission + Market, Southern Baked Pie Company, South City Kitchen, and many more.
The event also honors a local non-profit each year with proceeds from the “Spirit Wall”. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s “Spirit Wall” will be donated to Nicholas House, a non- profit agency operating an emergency shelter and temporary housing for homeless families in Atlanta. Attendees can purchase a “Spirit Wall” ticket at the event for $20 for a chance to win a bottle of premium wine or spirits.
General admission tickets are available for $75, and a limited number of VIP tickets are still available at $125. VIP tickets include a tour of ASW Distillery, specialty cocktails and exclusive food samples. The event starts at 6 p.m., with VIP access beginning at 5:30 p.m.
“Taste of Buckhead truly is Atlanta’s best tasting event,” said Bailey. “It brings together our Buckhead community to celebrate what makes this area so special. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to have some of our most special residents, Mayor Sam and Sandra Massell, adding to that this year.”
